Community Development Sessions
At Kingston Wildcats, we understand how important it is for everyone to have the opportunity to get involved in sport, and we’re passionate about raising the quality of grassroots basketball. We also know that committing to club basketball can feel overwhelming for some, whether it's because of time commitments or worries about how your skills measure up against others.
That’s why we’ve partnered with Chessington Sports Centre to run relaxed, community basketball sessions—perfect for anyone who’s interested in learning the game or just wants to play in a fun, no-pressure environment. These sessions are designed to give you a chance to enjoy basketball without the need for full commitment to a club. Whether you’re a complete beginner or simply looking to improve your skills, we’ve got a session for you.
Our community sessions are run by Kingston Wildcats coaches, who teach the fundamental skills and basketball understanding that are at the core of what we do at the club. You’ll get a great introduction to the sport and have fun while doing it!
When and Where:
The sessions take place on Saturdays and are specifically aimed at new starters or those who aren’t quite ready to join team training but want to develop their skills. Each session lasts for an hour and costs just £3 per session, which can be paid in cash at the Chessington Sports Centre reception.
We’ve split the sessions into two age groups to ensure everyone gets the most out of their time:
For players aged 12 and under: 1:30pm - 2:30pm
For players aged 13 to 18: 2:30pm - 3:30pm
Whether you’re looking to take your first steps in basketball or simply want to enjoy a casual game, our community sessions are the perfect place to start. Come along, meet new people, and experience the joy of basketball in a welcoming and supportive environment. We’d love to see you there!
