Code of Conduct

Player Code of Conduct

At Kingston Wildcats, we expect all players to uphold the highest standards of behaviour, respect, and sportsmanship. By following this code, you help create a positive environment for yourself, your teammates, and the club as a whole.

Punctuality and Attention

  • Arrive on time for all training sessions and games whenever possible.

  • Focus during training — your friends can catch up with you afterwards.

  • Listen to your coaches and stay engaged throughout the session.

Respect for Team Colleagues

  • Treat all teammates with kindness and respect.

  • Be supportive on and off the court, regardless of the score or situation.

Respect for Coaches

  • Show respect to your coaches at all times — they are here to help you grow.

  • Follow instructions without arguing. If you have concerns, raise them privately and respectfully at a time agreed with your coach.

Respect for Referees

  • Always respect referees and their decisions.

  • Avoid arguing, complaining, or using inappropriate language when representing the club.

  • Keep a positive attitude and smile — it reflects well on you and the team.

Fair Play and Sportsmanship

  • Follow the rules of the game and demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times.

  • Play with integrity during training and matches.

Fitness and Health

  • Maintain your fitness and take care of your physical health.

  • If your coach recommends extra training, follow their guidance.

  • Remember, a healthy diet is an essential part of staying fit.

Representation of the Club

  • Always represent Kingston Wildcats with pride — whether you win or lose, do so gracefully.

  • Your behaviour reflects on the entire club, so act responsibly at all times.

Respect for Equipment and Venues

  • Take care of club equipment and respect all facilities and venues.

  • Leave spaces clean and tidy after use.

Team Improvement

  • Work hard to improve your own game.

  • Support your teammates’ development — help them grow rather than criticise.

  • Remember: when one player improves, the whole team benefits.

Respect for Opponents and Officials

  • Treat opponents, their coaches, and all officials with respect — even if they don’t do the same.

  • After each game, shake hands with opponents, referees, and coaches. Thank them and, if appropriate, congratulate them on their performance.

Overall Conduct

  • Play with passion, play with purpose, and always follow your coach’s lead.

  • Aim to win, but never at the cost of respect or fairness.

  • Most importantly, enjoy the game and strive to improve every time you step on the court.
