Whether your child has never touched a basketball or is ready to trial for a National League squad — there is a route into Kingston Wildcats for everyone. Here is exactly how to get started.
Saturday Community Sessions
Every Saturday at Chessington Sports Centre
Our Saturday sessions are for beginners and those just starting their basketball journey. No experience needed, no booking required — just turn up. £3.50 per person (£3.00 cash).
Squad Trials & Selection
Our CVL and National League squads are selected each May through formal trials. This is the main route into competitive squad basketball at Kingston Wildcats.
Trials for all squads (U10s–U18s) take place every May ahead of the following season. Dates are announced via our social media and website, usually in April. Coaches assess potential and attitude, not just current ability.
Missed May trials? Players can attend a training session as a trial at any point mid-season. Contact Fi Martin on 07725 333 185 or at info@kingstonwildcats.com to arrange the right session.
Once a place is offered, registration is completed via PlayHQ — Basketball England’s official platform. All members sign the club Code of Conduct before their first session.
Kingston Wildcats is not-for-profit. Fees are reviewed annually and set to cover facilities, game fees and player equipment only — everything is reinvested. Contact Fi for current season fees.
Training Schedule
All squad training is at Chessington Sports Centre. Sessions are for players selected through trials. Saturday sessions and Friday Night Skills are open to all.
⭐ Friday Night Skills: £7 per session, ages 10–19, drop-in. 🏀 Saturday sessions: £3.50 per person (£3 cash), open to all. All other sessions: selected squad players only.
